Tommy is a 6 year old boy who has a devoted sidekick dog called Daniel (this is all live action). In every episode, Tommy & Daniel precipitate something that has a consequence that needs resolution. At the moment of crisis, Tommy's imagination transports him from the real world into an animated one where he and Daniel are confronted by their nemeses - Polluto & Smogg the Mog who are on a mission to ruin the world. The animated storylines always reflect Tommy's real-life dilemma. His victories over Polluto give him the means to solve his real-life conundrum. Using action and comedy to drive them, each episode explores social, environmental or behavioural issues in a way that will entertain and inspire in equal measure. Tommy Zoom started as a creation on the Cbeebies website (www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/tommyzoom/) as a superhero who gave an environmentally friendly message.
