Rick Spleen's back - and as he will tell you, he's on the way up, his career is going from strength to strength and he's never been so popular. In other words, he's still the same old self-deluded liar, making a reasonable living from corporate gigs, appearing on low-rent chat shows and hoping for his big break. As his career lurches from one disaster to the next, Rick also has to cope with crises on the domestic front - not the least of which is a bedridden Mel, who has to battle to recover from the flu before Rick manages to lose every C-list client her agency has on its books. Throughout it all, Rick has to deal with his quick-talking American writing partner Marty and the local cafe owner Michael, whose grasp on reality appears to be getting ever looser.
