Inspector Alleyn is a well-bred detective who has connections among the upper class in Britain's high society and uses his background to bring some unlikely culprits to justice. Based in the 1940's the series also stars Belinda Land as artist Agatha Troy, Alleyn's independent lady friend, and Williams Simons as his loyal partner D.I. Fox.
