A look at the world, 120 feet up

The rainforest canopy is one of the least explored environments on Earth. In order to get a true understanding of this mysterious world, and to avoid the dangers of the aggressive forest elephants, a team of scientists, local experts and cameramen spend five weeks living and working on an elaborate network of treehouses and observation platforms, high above the ground. South Loango National Park in Gabon, Central Africa, is a wildlife-rich area of coastal rainforest, and home to a group of rare primates; the red-capped mangabey. Through observing these primates, the scientists hope to have a chance to protect these endangered animals. However, as well as experiencing the beauty and wonder of living high up in the trees, the team must also endure whatever their environment can throw at them, from tropical downpours and the searing heat of the sun, to the simple trials of attempting everyday activities.
