Itís been three months since Marian's untimely death and Robin is a changed man. Tougher, he's sacked his gang since they all returned from the Holy Land. Not only that Ė he's hell bent on avenging his wife's tragic end. Her slayer, Guy of Gisborne is a marked man. Fuelled by anger and grief, Robin seems stuck in a downward spiral, but a new beacon of hope arrives in the form of a travelling monk called Tuck (David Harewood), who soon gets our hooded hero back on track. Meanwhile, the wickedness of the Sheriff continues unabated. A spirited Locksley girl named Kate (Joanne Froggatt) objects to her brother's forced conscription.
As a result she inadvertently gets caught up in the cause of Robin Hood and becomes an indispensable member of the gang. As the threat of Prince John (Toby Stephens)looms larger, Robin and Gisborne have to reach an uneasy truce as it emerges that they may have rather more in common than they thought.

“Want to be entertained by a quality adventure series? Buy this DVD. The previous series of Robin Hood was o.k but not great-like watching a boy band music video. It lacked a little detail, action adventure swashbuckling and most of all substance but Series 3 has really raised the bar. It is fabulous on all levels. Heaps of drama, great cinematography great new period costumes and a great engaging story from start to finish. The costumes are now authentic and so much to the world and the scripts and stories are a lot more engaging and hard hitting and as a result more entertaining. Robin Hood is darker and angry after the death of Marian and you are in for one hell of a ride through this new series leading up to a fantastic 2 part climax to the end of the season. The acting in this series is fantastic with Richard Armitage brilliant as the Brooding Guy of Gisbourn who has to somewhat reevaluate his position throughout this series as is Toby Stevens who really brings Prince John to life like a spoilt school boy in charge of the country. David Harewood a fine addition playing an original take on Friar Tuck. Also brilliant is the mysterious Archer played by the very Handsome and Swashbuckling Clive Standen later in the series. Not to mention some stand out guest roles throughout the series but i don't want to give too much away - the series takes you on a real emotional rollercoaster and you will not be disappointed with the ride. Its rare you get adventure series of this quality.. and it doesn't matter if your 7yrs old or 70yrs old this series really is not to be missed. 5*”
