Jeremy Paxman’s The Victorians DVD:
I was away when this was broadcast and I felt sorely aggrieved to have missed it.
Alan Bennett: Collected Untold Stories Audiobook CD:
This will give meenormous pleasure on my walks around London and the countryside. I shall eat up the miles as that civilised, acute, funny and masterful voice wraps itself around me.
The Spy Who Came In From The Cold Audiobook CD:
One of the most perfectly constructed plots ever devised. Seems like a dream cast and I missed this when it came out.
Criminal Justice DVD:
I chose Criminal Justice because I've heard wonderful things about it and never saw it, also I have recently filmed The Tempest with Ben Whishaw and wanted to see his work.
Elizabeth Gaskell Boxset DVD:
I chose the box sets of Charles Dickens and Elizabeth Gaskell because nobody does the 'classics' like the BBC. Everyone should have these in their DVD libraries and watching a classic well done on television always leads me back to re-reading the original book.
The Charles Dickens Collection DVD:

I have chosen all the David Attenborough programmes because they represent the best television ever made. They do everything television should do - inform, educate and entertain - and they do it all brilliantly. They have opened the eyes of my children to the natural world in a way nothing else could have done and I'll always be grateful to Attenborough for that. He is, quite simply, the greatest public educator television has ever produced and no home should be without his programmes.
Something Special: Nursery Rhymes DVD:
Cbeebies – Zac loves dancing and singing to nursery rhymes so this would be great for Christmas as I can put it on and we can both sing along to it.
Mary Berry's Baking Bible Book:
As a mum I have taken to baking and love cakes so this would be perfect for me.
David Attenborough: Life DVD:
I did Saving Planet Earth and met David Attenborough – he’s one of my heroes and I love his work.
Shooting Stars: 2009 Series DVD:
For great silly childish fun with Vic and Bob.
David Attenborough: Life DVD:
for knowledge of animal life and because it's beautifully narrated by the great man himself David Attenborough (don't you just wish he was your uncle).
Britain from Above DVD:
And the stunning aerial shots of Britain from above - wow, what exhilarating scenery (watching gives me a fabulous appetite).
Torchwood Children of Earth DVD:
I'm a passionate Dr Who and Torchwood fan, and have all the boxed sets except this one - so it's definitely my number one choice.
Alan Bennett At The BBC Audiobook CD:
I think I've watched almost every Alan Bennett play, and can quote chunks here and there. 'Treat jostles with treat,' is one of my favourite sayings. This selection will be a real treat for me
Desperate Romantics DVD:
I love the Pre-Raphaelites and have many books about them. This dramatised series took various liberties but I found it tremendous fun.
20 Years of Wallace & Gromit: The Complete Collection DVD:
as he loves the humour, characters and the amazing talent behind the stop-motion animation.

as he is always encouraging the girls to read as much as they can.

Fun for his youngest grandddaughter and a tin to take to school!

This will be for my youngest stepdaughter Claudia, we love baking and Mary’s books are just the best.
No 1 Ladies Detective Agency DVD:
This will be for my Mum, I have read all of his books and am a massive fan. Mum missed this when it was on the television. So over Christmas she can catch up on this writing treasure.
Planet Earth DVD:
This will be for me and my Dad to enjoy. I saw this series when it went out but could watch it again and again, every time learning more.
David Attenborough: Life DVD:
I love what I've managed to catch of the series on the tele and am really keen to see the rest, the most stunning and incredible footage of nature I've ever seen.
Only Fools & Horses: Complete Series 1-7 DVD:
Christmas classic, makes me feel like a kid again, lying on the floor staring at the box with my Mum and Dad cracking up and my Mum loving Delboy.
Old Grey Whistle Test: Complete Series 1-3 DVD:
Everybody always references it when talking about how great and important live music shows used to be, particularly want to see performances from The Buzzcocks, Edwyn Collins, The Replacements, Bowie and John Lennon. Though wouldn't have minded some more ladies... Nevermind.
A Question of Sport DVD Game DVD:
I’ve gone for Question of Sport so I can test my sporting knowledge and its also a good game for the family at Christmas.
Allstar Workout DVD:
the Allstar Workout is for shedding those unwanted Christmas pounds!
Clarkson: Duel DVD:
And I love Top Gear so the Clarkson DVD should keep me entertained over the festive period.
Coast DVD:
Guilty pleasure of mine. What could be more Sunday night than watching geography on TV.
Fawlty Towers: remastered DVD:
Its not going to get any better than this.
Armstrong and miller series 1 & 2 DVD:

Planet Earth DVD:
Planet Earth was the most extraordinary series I have ever seen. I'd watch it and "oooh" and "aaaaah" as if I were watching fireworks. I'd love to watch it again with my children.

Just the words "Alan" and "Partridge" make me fall over and shake with giggles. This is actually true. The Complete Coogan would be the best thing to have for immediate laughter.
