How can I find out about BBC products that are not on the BB

1. How can I find out about BBC products not available

BBC Shop endeavours to carry a wide and varying range of BBC products that are currently available. In some cases BBC Shop is unable to carry a particular product due to it no longer being available (ie. out of production) or due to continuing out of stock problems. If there is a product that you would like to find out about you can contact Customer Services using the Contact Us page.

Product queries will be dealt with as soon as possible, however, it is important to note that the majority of requested products are no longer available (out of production).

Availability of Products

1. Availability of Products

We despatch over 98% of all orders direct to your doorstep in one working day, so you won’t have long to wait.

Availability information for titles is listed on each individual product page. The majority of our products are despatched within 1 working day. On rare occasions a product may be available for despatch in 3-4 days, for example, or it may be temporarily unavailable. We will inform you by email if any products you have ordered are temporarily unavailable.

If a product is out of stock this will be clearly stated on the product detail page under the price information. You can still order a product that is temporarily out of stock and it will be despatched to you as soon as the stock arrives at our warehouse.

Some of our products are available for pre-order, to be delivered on the release date. In this instance, the 'Add to basket' button will be replaced with a 'Pre-order: add to basket' button so it is clear that the item is available for pre- order. Please Note: We do not charge your credit/debit card until your order is despatched.

I have been charged for my order but it hasn't been despatched

1. I have been charged for my order but it hasnt been despatched

Please be assured that here at the BBC Online Shop we do not charge any orders until they have been despatched from our warehouse.

We send what is called an authorization request to your credit card company. Your credit card company verifies that the card is valid and that the amount of your transaction is available. If the card number is valid and the funds are available, they put an authorization hold on the funds. An authorization is only a hold on the funds for a possible future transfer. This hold is temporary, and if the transaction isn't settled it will expire without any action. It is not a completed transaction and no funds are transferred at that time.

Your credit card company may still show a temporary authorization hold on the funds after your transaction is completed. It can take several working days for them to process the void on the authorization. The time will vary from one company to the next. Unfortunately, many customer service people at the card companies don't understand the difference between a settled transaction and an authorization hold. They will tell you that it was a valid transaction.
