This was a moving performance with outstanding character roles from David Tennant and Patrick Stewart. 'Hamlet, Prince of Denmark' was the first Shakespeare play I ever read (when I was ten) and this is by far the best rendition of the play I have seen. Tennant's Hamlet was full of frenetic energy clearly displaying the troubled mind of the character whilst also capturing the duality of his nature. Patrick Stewart was superb (only to be expected) and his roles as both Old Hamlet and the Claudius were full of feeling and believable. This is the finest example of Hamlet I have seen in a long time. The acting allows the dialogue to be understood within the context of the play so that even someone not familiar with Shakespeare's English, would be able to follow the plot. Even the minor character roles of Laertes and Ophelia managed to stand out and were memorable. However, the role of Polonius was just magical. Never before have I seen the role so magnificently played.
