Ok - let's be positive - Matt Smith is totally brilliant as the Doctor - he's the most Doctorish Doctor since Tom Baker, Karen Gillan is the natural successor to Billie Piper, and Arthur Darvill looks suitably bemused as Rory (reminds me very much of the late great Ian Marter's performance as Harry Sullivan). The guest cast are true to the high standards laid down in the previous series, and even the stories are good - well except for the lame remake of Doctor Who and The Silurians, but Matt saves the day there..... So why oh why BBC have you treated this box set so badly? No "next time" trailers and the silly new BBC logo popping up where it should be the more traditional square one means that these episodes are edited, and not complete as transmitted which to a purist such as myself is very disappointing. Where also are the commentaries? Outtakes? Deleted scenes? Bloopers? Everything that made a Tennant release an annual event? There's not even a little booklet, and I love a little booklet! Be warned - if you expecting anything like Series 4 you may be disapointed..... But the lenticular sleeve and internal artwork are nice..... So 5 stars for the story and acting content, but I'm afraid 3 stars for the execution and special features, and shame on whoever has done the editing..... Moan done!
