This Sense & Sensibility was a new departure technically in that the BBC took an outside broadcast unit with mobile scanner and a two video camera set up on location for the whole thing. Prior to that BBC classic dramas were shot partly on location (film) but mainly in studio (video) so the quality of picture was varied between the two.
