Jennifer Aylett

Beautifully shot scenes of some amazing places. Very difficult choice for Monty Don in selecting those particular gardens rather than the thousands with equal claim - he could just keep going on and on.As a gardener, it was a bit disappointing that he didnt indentify more plants, or tell us how many staff are needed to maintain many of those gardens. I also thought his treatment of the gardens in Australia and New Zealand was a bit offhand compared to the enthusiasm he displayed elsewhere. Perhaps he was over the whole idea by then-he was so ready to criticize the gardeners for not using native plants without having made that criticism anywhere else, or acknowledging the difference between native and indigenous plants. Surely it doesn't matter where it comes from, so long as it grows!
