Kate Bartholomew

Lovely rendition of the stories I grew up with as a little girl, and now newly beloved by my 4-year-old daughter. She is undeterred by the old-fashioned details of England of another generation (including details of how to make"bubble and squeak"), despite living in California in a very different time. She's a tad puzzled by the stories being punctuated by talk of "badness" but does not seem too bothered by it. The author has captured the intensity of childhood emotions with humor and love.
