Nebulous is based in 2099 and set in a world which is both familiar and utterly alien. Set in post apocalyptic England, the great catle-clasm has wiped out the livestock and climate change has caused new seaons and months such as Octember and the drizzly Hamble. Professor Nebulous, an obviously brilliant scientist although a little scatterbrained fell from grace after accidentally vaporising the Isle of wight. He is head of K.E.N.T (Key Environmental Nonjudgemental Taskforce) a chronically underfunded government department. So as he sturggles to save the Earth (or what's left of the Earth) from sentient dust, killer cacti and naked aliens he also battles with the underfunding by doing other peoples laundry. I wish I could think of something that I could liken it to, but any comparisons would not do Nebulous any justice. It is unique, funnier than any other sci fi, but darker than your average commedy. It is quirky, fun, light hearted, off the wall, well written, and brilliant!
