Being a huge fan of the Bram Stoker novel, before recently seeing this mini-series for the first time, I thaught the closest adaptation of the book was Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 effort starring Gary Oldman. That I would have said was the most loyal. Now that this BBC 1977 version has finally seen the light of day, this is by far the closest version yet. Lous Jourdan is Dracula
