Simply fantastic. I wasn't even aware that the entire series of radio plays covering all 5 THHGTTG works had been completed.Upon tearing into this fantastic set (which features just as the description declares not only the first 2 series but the other 3 to complete the 5 book trilogy), I was amazed to discover I had actually only ever heard the first 7 episodes and believed that was that. This series is very special because this is how it all began. All the books, TV series, computer games and hollywood blockbuster came from this radio series. Yes that's right before it was anything else it was a radio series and as a fan of Sci-Fi radio it is without doubt one of the greatest radio sci-fi's ever produced. Great cast, great sound effects, terrific music and zany comedy thrown in spell magic to the ears. The absolute joy at discovering that the entire work has now been completed exactly the way it should be. As an audio radio adventure. The TV series was always dissa pointing due to it's inferior nature (compared to this radio series it's no way near as good), it was more just icing and an already good cake and to be honest there should be more sci-fi in audio form. Audio forces a listener to use there imagination and that's a very good thing. In 2004 the (24 years later) continuing adventures was released (shame on me for not knowing but it was 24 years later, I was starting to know how the people of Magrathea must have felt waiting for the ultimate answer and question). This was followed up by a 4th and a 5th to cover the entire works that Douglas had completed as books. To my utter amazment there all fantastic, each featuring a full blown cast, special effects and soundtrack just like the originals. To top it all off there's a great bonus CD with some feature programs and misc moments featuring Douglas Adams in top form.Overall this is essential for the HHGTTG fan as this was how it was always meant to be presented. As a great audio a dventure to lay down and listen to while checking out the stars in the sky at night.Stop reading this review and grab your personal copy of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy -> COMPLETE and remember: "DON'T PANIC!!!"
