Solaris is a powerful story that reaching deep within our soul and forces us to scrutinise our very being. This radioplay is an excellent reading of the book and some of the beauty of the description might be lost in translation from its original language, regardless of which this version really is quite harrowing. This is something that both film versions almost reached. This play brings out from the book what is a blend of the film versions. It has the beauty and spirituality of the Tarkovsky version, the questioning and the introspection. It also has the more personal story and contemporary feel of the Soderbergh version. I think though neither of those versions really delved into the terrible substory. I think the radioplay really tries to go there.I really recommend it. It has affected me.
