John Nettles heads a strong cast which includes changes from episode to episode to make for very enjoyable viewing. The plots are outrageously out of character with the real Jersey crime scene, but that's all part of the fun. This DVD set has been criticized for poor (dark) video quality, but that is far outweighed by the commentaries on three episodes by Nettles and the series creator Robert Banks Stewart, which are priceless. A pity too that the daytime-viewing, cut versions of episodes were used.
